I just finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt which I enjoyed. I am trying to decide what to listen to next. I generally like fiction, crime and memoirs, both humourous and more moving. The quality of the narration is important to me. I tend to listen in 30-45 minute bursts when driving or cooking so I prefer something not too long or it will take forever to get through it. I am currently reading a crime novel so staying away from crime and thrillers this time.
I am considering the following but open to other recommendations:
-
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L Frank Baum – I have never read the book and thought it would be a nice, gentle, quick listen and good to hear the original story as written.
-
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah – I have heard really good things about this book and I really like him so thought it would be a good option.
-
Sociopath by Patric Gagne – Again have heard good things and seems like a really interesting topic.
-
Homecoming by Kate Morton – I really like Kate Morton and have read all of her other books. I actually started reading this one but wasn't feeling the pull to read it and there was a queue of people waiting to borrow it from the library so I handed it in. I listened to a sample of it and thought I might enjoy it more as an audiobook.
I would love thoughts. It would also be interesting to know how you pick your next listen?
