My sister loves the Hunger Games; she read the trilogy when it came out when she was a tween and has reread it several times since and is now in her early 20s. She has tried other books over the years but hasn’t liked any of them, including some other YA dystopians (hated Divergent, etc) as well as trialing some other genres (didn’t like Harry Potter, hated the contemporary fiction she read). When she talks about wanting to read more, I try recommending different books of mine but she’ll get 50 pages in and give up because she isn’t enjoying any of them.
The closest she got was with Legend, which she thought was alright but didn’t finish the second book in the series because it became too much of a love story and she lost interest.
She’s been trying to read other books but can’t find anything she likes. She even read the new Hunger Games prequel and didn’t like it, and has tried other books by Suzanne Collins and not finished them.
Any ideas on books worth a try?
