I’m looking for one like One second after series or Mike Mullins Sunrise. Like where s there is a community or town surviving as opposed to a family or something and the MC is leading or helping lead that community through it.
The Stand by Stephen King. It’s long but it’s an amazing book.

highly recommend the oryx and crake trilogy by margaret atwood. the second book in the series, the year of the flood, is my personal fave of the three, but the first book is more what you’re looking for i think

Check out the Survivalist series by A. American, it might suit. I enjoyed it.
I have both the series you mention on my TBR but haven’t read either yet.

The Day of the Triffids. It’s like a proto-zombie book where the zombies are walking plants.

The Last Tribe by Brad Manuel is unputdownable. (Not a word but you get it.) The audiobook is my new favorite.
