Hello! Brand new to this subreddit. Its a long story but I haven't read a full book in a while. I used to read a lot and enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking to get into some light reading in hopes of sparking an interest in the hobby again! Looking for something on the shorter side, with fantasy vibes (but with minimal complicated lore). A little opposed to romance, but its not a total killer if the plot doesn't center around that.

Books I liked and am looking to match kinda the vibes of:
    Dust by Arthur Slade
    Hawksong Series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
Raven Boys Series by Maggie Steifvater
Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld (I've read pretty much everything by him but this is my fave series)

Not specifically looking for YA suggestions!

Also, for bonus points, if there's some animal centered book/series like Warriors by Erin Hunter, Silverwing series by Kenneth Oppel, The Sight and Firebringer by David Clement-Davies for an older crowd I would be all over that.
