My favorite “lift my spirits” book is **Project Hail Mary** by Andy Weir. It also happens to be one of the best – and possibly *the* best – audiobook Ive ever listened to. It is narrated in first person by the MC, a lovable, hilarious nerd who wakes up in a strange room with no idea who or where he is. He soon discovers/remembers he’s been sent in a daring mission to another star to try to save humanity.
It’s got broad crossover appeal, so you do not need to like sci-fi to enjoy immensely. It’s creative, poignant, exciting, hilarious, and uplifting all at the same time.

I love audiobook memoirs read by the author. I’ve recently enjoyed Simu Liu’s *We Were Dreamers* and Jimmy O’Yang’s *How to Be American* and Patrick Stewart’s *Making It So*.
