Strongly prefer it to be men as the central characters but it doesn't have to be strictly romance. Most of what I read in general is contemporary/literary fiction or fantasy. Here's some of the books that scratch this itch for me and why:
- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde – blond is simply tooooooo pretty (among other issues)
- Evocation by S. T. Gibson – blond is mostly just too chaotic but he's also pretentious
- Vicious by V.E. Schwab – blond is kind of cold but more just clinical and stuck in his own head?
- Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat – blond is literally untouchable because of rank but also just a cold person
- Dark Rise by C.S. Pacat – similarly cold pretentious blond but in YA. Pacat really has my number on this one
Lord of the White Hell has a blond character as the devotee but otherwise hits the mark in terms of their dynamic. Song of Achilles has someone adoring a blond but he's not untouchable to the person actually doing the adoring.
