safe to say i struggled immensely with getting through and finishing Ship of Magic. there was only one character in the whole book that i actually liked and if you know Robin Hobb, you know her characters are the absolute crux of her work. if you don't like the characters you are not going to have a good time. i have very few good things to say about this book, especially compared to how much i loved the Farseer Trilogy.
honestly the only thing that got me through to finish it was that i really want to get back to fitz and the fool, but now that i finally finished it i am just so burnt out. i really don't want to read the other two books in this trilogy. the problem is i know there's a lot of lore in these books; that was actually one of the only redeeming qualities for me.
can i skip the rest of LT and just move on to the rest of the series?? or will i be completely lost if i don't read those?

You won’t be completely lost. There are a few bits and pieces you’ll lose. Some people would find those bits and pieces important. Others would find them marginal. Personally, I found them marginal.
