We are trying to find a book for my son. He typically prefers audiobooks but we are trying to work on his sight reading muscles. He tends to be more picky about those books versus the audiobooks.
He hasn't been able to get into sight reading a book since reading Minecraft Dungeons Rise of the Arch-illager. He enjoyed it so much other books haven't compared so far. So does anyone have any suggestions for similar books.
Also some audiobooks he has enjoyed so far for more reference:
Wings of Fire series
How to Train Your Dragon series
The City of Ember series
The official Minecraft books
Matilda (several Roald Dahl books actually)
Harry Potter
The Series of Unfortunate Events series
Cogheart books

I would recommend the Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl and the Rangers Apprentice series for now. Do check them out!
If he likes Wings of Fire, he might like Guardians of Ga’Hoole by Kathrine Lasky, or its sister series, Wolves of the Beyond. Both have audiobooks and, as a bonus, they’re relatively short, so they’re not as intimidating!
Has he tried the Warriors cats books by Erin Hunter yet? I was super into those as a kid, and they tend to be popular with kids who enjoy Wings of Fire.
Maybe The Letter for the King by Tonke Dragt
John Flanagan,
Sherwood Smith,
Tamora Pierce,
Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander,
Black and blue magic by Zilpha Keatley Snyder,
Enchantress From the Stars by Engdahl
