I never read but I'd like to start. I know in high school I finished Animal Farm and Flowers for Algernon in a few days because they were just so entertaining and well written and gave me that same "one more turn" vibe that
Civilization gives me. I also really want to read Blitzed but could not find the book in any bookstore. I mention the games I play because that's all I really have for anything close to what I find entertaining.
What I like about Disco Elysium is that there's a ton of history behind the setting you're in, and the game wants you to learn about it a lot. And Civilization is pretty self-explanatory with real world history being incorporated into the gameplay. I guess I just like the vibe of learning history even if it's fictional.
Are there any good history books with lots of worldbuilding and also just interesting facts about historical events/civilizations?
