Hopefully the title makes sense. I’ve always enjoyed a dystopian novel with some political corruption, think 1984, A Handmaid’s Tale, A Clockwork Orange and Dreamland by Rosa Rankin-Gee (I will die on the hill that is this book!)
However, I’ve very very recently discovered the romantasy genre, and albeit I enjoy some spice it’s the epic battles that I liked more.
Are there any novels that cross the politically corrupt dystopian line into a fantasy power/magic dynamic with perhaps a sprinkle of romantic interest which isn’t the main trope?
Not sure if I’m asking for a unicorn here…
