My boyfriend gifted me a book called The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides when we first met, and I genuinely read it in one sitting until 3am because I could not put it down. It’s a thriller/ mystery about a girl who murders her husband and is completely silent after the event. A psychotherapist who has always wanted to work with her get her to speak is hired to find out why/what happened to her.
Another one is one of my all time favourite books which I couldn’t recommend enough called The Girl in 6E which is also a thriller, about a woman who has locked herself in her apartment for years and not left for so much as groceries and has become completely self-sufficient because she has psychopathic thoughts about killing people. She makes her money by being a cam girl online and one day comes across something disturbing with one of her clients which forces her to leave her apartment.
