Hi all!
I was hoping you could help suggest some book recommendations for my mom. She has a mental illness and can’t read books with too much smut, abuse includes (SA, physical, emotional etc) or drug addiction. Here’s a list of what she’s already read and seems to be okay with;
- Throne of glass entire series by Sarah J Mass
- Percy Jackson series
- Nevermoor
- Life of Pi
- Hunger games book series
- the midnight library
Perhaps sci/fi or young adult would be best but she’s not a fan of too much romance. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance 😊

It’s not hard fantasy but I just finished reading In The Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace (cozy fantasy) which she might enjoy! It does deal with grief though
Project hail mary by Andy Weir is also an amazing sci-if book without any of those triggers but I also read that one over a year ago so I would just double check!
If she’s open to very long books, I recommend [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard! It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
