Suggest me books that will help me gain overall knowledge about the world without being overly complicated
Any books on science, politics, philosophy, etc. or even all three is what I’m looking for…preferably easier to understand since I’m not really at that level of understanding lol, if that makes sense.
**A Short History of Nearly Everything** by Bill Bryson is exactly what you’re looking for. He covers many areas of science – chemistry, geology, astronomy, etc – and the history of scientific discoveries, in a really engaging, accessible, and funny way. One of my favourite nonfiction books ever, and a fantastic intro to science.

William Blum’s _Killing Hope_ primarily about serial CIA interventions worldwide since WW2. Spoiler, there were many dozens and almost none of them did any demonstrable good.
