I am loading up my e-reader with books in preparation for some late nights with my new baby. Books that tend to hook me are more 'literary' fiction (Elena Ferrante, James McBride), historical fiction (anything by Hilary Mantel), or the occasional dense and unique fantasy series (i.e. Moon Witch, Spider King). I don't like books that sacrifice depth for pace. Recent books or authors that lots of people love but I didn't care for: Lessons in Chemistry, Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, things by Emily Henry.
