I’m not much of a reader myself but I know she needs guidance now more than ever and I want to find books that can help her see herself in someone else’s perspective. I’ve grown up with her and know of some dad issues and bad influence from him that essentially led her to be where she’s at. I want to find something that teaches it’s okay to break away from a toxic parent and live a life far away from them. Sorry for my vagueness and thank you all in advance

The book “Queenie” by Candace Carty-Williams has a toxic/strained mother daughter relationship that I think was handled very well (keep in mind, I have a great relationship with both of my parents so what I think was handled well might not be in your friend’s perspective). I would also warn that there are mentions of SA in it, so if that’s a trigger for your friend, I’d be careful there
