Hi Friends!
When I find a book I really love I can curl up and get completely lost in it, it’s a wonderful feeling but unfortunately one I haven’t had in a while, the books I currently have just don’t keep my interest.
As a kid I got my hands on every Dork Diaries book the moment it came out, reread them recently and very much enjoyed it ;-; I like the silly low-stakes drama of it, I like the relatable characters and setting, and I always love a good love triangle.
I’m also very fond of The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak, it’s been my favourite book since I was probably 10 and I’ve read it so much I could probably type it out here word for word (German and English edition, I’m such a nerd for this book it’s not even funny)
I got given a bunch of true-crime books a couple years ago and the only one I have finished is Talking With Psychopaths and Savages by Christopher Berry-Dee, I’m big into psychology and especially forensic psychology, Ive also read Why Does He Do That and very much enjoyed it. I got part way through Write About Me by Melissa Pouliot and The Devil Will Come by Glenn Cooper but got really bored of them not too far into the book.
So a bit of a weird combination, I can’t find a pattern in what I like to be able to seek out more. I think for fiction I like lighthearted romance/dramas, Im also a goth so I don’t mind a dark twist about it. For non-fiction I’d love some good psychology book recommendations, but I’ve also wanted to read more about queer history, being non-binary and bisexual myself, Liberated: The Radical Life and Art of Claude Cahun is currently in my Amazon Wishlist, if anyone has read that please let me know how it is!
Thanks for reading folks! Sorry for the long ramble, I hope it’s coherent ;-; xx

Novels by Jodi Picoult may really grab you. She writes about current ethical issues and dilemmas, and she really does her research! I absolutely couldn’t put down Mad Honey and it concerns Trans issues and abuse. Her characters are so real, you feel like you know them and always wonder, “what would I do if this happened to me?” — Always a fascinating exercise in stepping into someone else’s shoes.
I suggest the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, and I suggest you start wit Guards! Guards! or with Mort 🙂 guards guards has fun characters to follow and mysteries to unravel, mort has death as a character and touches on a bit of the psychology of what it means to be a reaper, discworld in general has lots of humor and serious topics interwoven
