Writing a fantasy novel but it’s set in the present, so I’m looking to absorb more stories that are similar. Already been through all of the Dresden Files books (multiple times, love it) and just finished going through all the Harry Potter books again (a nice change of pace from endlessly rewatching the films).
Also I love audiobooks, so if you listened to a great novel like I’ve described that also has an excellent reader I’d be very interested.
Bonus points for third person, double secret extra points if third person omniscient. Thanks for any and all leads!

check out Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey!! modern day mystery book with a super cool magic system
Rivers of London series by Ben Aaraonovitch. It’s like Dresden Files, but in London. And the characters are part of a special unit in London police that deals with magic. The narrator, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, is quite liked by listeners
