Hi all! I'm getting very tired of cozy mysteries that portray cops as the good guys or where a cop is the love interest as it doesn't align with my politics at all, icks me out hard, and kills my immersion. I stumbled upon the Bad Housekeeping audiobook by Maia Chance (book #1 in the "An Agnes and Effie Mystery" series) and fell in LOVE, as it showed the cops as power abusers that didn't believe the protagonist and were a constant hindrance to solving the case (it's also a VERY well narrated book and both books in the series were charming as hell and an absolute joy, I highly recommend).

Can anyone recommend other anti-cop cozy mysteries?

Note: Books where the cops are initially difficult but warm up and become besties with the protagonist are NOT candidates. Books where the cops swoop in at the very last minute to make an arrest ARE candidates (since this outcome seems unavoidable in this genre). Bonus points if it's an audiobook available on Everand!

    Thanks yall <3
