I loved fantasy as a kid/teenager but I CANNOT pick a good book to save my life…. I want to read the Song of Fire & Ice series but can’t think of anything else. I’ll normally just pick up something that “looks” good and get super disappointed. Gimme some ideas!! I’m not crazy about sci-fi bc it tends to be too complicated for my ADHD brain. I want some fantasy (high fantasy is my favorite…. that’s a genre right??)

A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab. It’s the first in the Shades of Magic trilogy. It’s not high fantasy, but it got me back into reading fantasy. It’s got a really cool premise (there are three parallel Londons with varying degrees of magic, but only a few with a special kind of magic can travel between these worlds). It also has pirates! Some of my favorite characters came from this series.
