Examples being something like Axiom's End, Ex Machina, Blade Runner, Shape of Water, etc. Doesn't necessarily have to be a romance.
Bonus points if creature isn't just human with pointy ears and actually has a unique perspective & culture/mode of existence

A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers is the first in the Monk and Robot series (there are currently only two books). Both books are focused on the robot acclimating to the human world with the help of a monk. These books are very sweet and depict a utopian world, but they are by far some of my favorite Sci-fi.
It’s a slow burn, but Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive, beginning with *The Way of Kings*.
Spren culture is definitely unique, though you don’t get to see a lot of it until books 3 and 4. Books 1 and 2 are focused more on the early stages of the bond itself.
