I appreciate the convenience of audiobooks, and I love the fact that people get paid to narrate books. But some books I’ve read visually, had I listened to them instead, I would have DNF’d them.
Things seem to pop out at me with audio. Dialogue that would seem fine if I read it can somehow seem trite or silly if I hear it. A passage that otherwise would strike me as decent can somehow seem too ornate, too blunt, too something.
I have loved some audiobooks and many narrators are great, but overall audiobooks tend to not sustain my interest. Just wondering if anyone feels similarly.

I do not have the patience to listen to someone going on and on in most cases. Kind of why I’m not into podcasts either.
