i love a song of ice and fire, loved reading the Silo series by Hugh Howey, and read some works by Octavia E Butler. I love a good series, but I prefer faster faced books with a lot going on. and I really dislike the fantasy books going viral on tiktok. i’m fine with any decade, any writers, but i just dont want to read a book with overly corny writing style as well. i know this sounds super picky but i just started reading again after a few years of not consistently reading. i want to read some good books that dont make my brain go “oh brother, this guy sucks” every other paragraph.

[The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/7b42eb9b-da97-43af-a143-e1c4b8254728) by S.A. Chakraborty
I enjoyed all of these and they all have women protagonists. A few were written by men, I’ve put an M after those.
– Red Sister (M)
– Ship of Magic
– Junkyard Cats
– Skyward (YA, M)
– City of Brass
– Best Served Cold (M)
– Sword of Kaigen
– Circe
– Golem and the Jinni
– The Poppy War
– Children of Blood and Bone
Jade City is a multiple POV book with both genders, and was written by Fonda Lee.
