I really liked the depth of emotion and the chaotic messiness of YOU MADE A FOOL OF DEATH WITH YOUR BEAUTY by Akwaeke Emezi. The story follows a young widow who is trying to date again and she falls for the new boyfriend’s dad. This sounds trashy and salacious but it’s actually very beautiful and heartfelt about how mysteriously the heart works. You may also enjoy Sally Rooney’s books which are about people falling in love in messy and realistic ways.
