I saw this animation of two people fighting
(A & B), and the lover of A watching the fight (person C). During the fight, B decides to fight dirty and target C, who is uninvolved in the fight. Before the blow can hit, A gets between them, blocking the strike by grabbing the head of the spear. C had such complete confidence in A that she never so much as flinches when the attack comes her way.
Are there any books that have that vibe? Is this a trope that has a name?
