Yeah the cliche trope, suggest me a book about a man who lost his wife and/or child and his journey to revenge/self discovery/redemption/destruction and anything else that he has to deal with. Maybe he's the reason he lost his family. Or maybe the wife is not dead and he goes on a quest to rescue her or whatever. Or his lost/dead family is just a motivating or driving factor for him in an altogether different plot.
Kinda like idk John Wick or Dalinar Kholin from stormlight archive etc.
No Y/A. Older characters preferred. Any genre works even scifi like that guy in Hyperion.
