See title. I’ve been a fan of archeology and anthropology, and I like worldbuilding. Are there books that combine the two, with a fictional culture explored through an anthropological lense?
My only additional requests are that 1) they’re not overtly colonialist in nature (colonialism can be a topic, but no “white mans burdens” and the like) and 2) that the culture in question isn’t just a mouthpiece for the author’s politics/philosophy/religious beliefs.
Any genre accepted, though the nature of the prompt leans towards speculative fiction.
