Hey all! I used to love reading but a few years ago I tried 3 separate occasions to get through a highly regarded book that just wasn't doing it for me, and when I gave up after the 3rd try I kind of lost my interest in reading altogether. I really want to get back into it but a lot of the popular books I see trending nowadays just really aren't my style.
I'll read almost anything; fantasy, science-fiction, horror/thriller, true crime; not really into super heavy romance books or non-fiction (aside from true crime). I want something a bit more mature than all the popular YA books, and I also don't mind if books have some romance plots/aspects in them (can be queer or not) but I don't want anything smutty.

Grave Reservations by Cherie Priest, a funny murder mystery. Features a female MC who is a psychic travel agent, but not very good at the psychic part teaming up with a skeptical detective.
