I just finished reading Andrew Boyd's "I Want a Better Catastrophe," and I loved it and want to learn more about the climate crisis.

I am admittedly brand new to learning or even thinking about this issue; I grew up in an ultra-religious, climate-change-denying bubble with very little real scientific education. I no longer hold those beliefs, and I feel like I have a lot to catch up on in terms of educating myself (and my still-denying family) about the climate crisis.

What other books or authors would you suggest? I can tread lightly into academic and scientific texts, but would prefer something more accessible as someone who is building up their basic understanding and grappling of all this. I am especially interested in the "just transition" framework. Extra points if it comes from indigenous and black/brown writers and activists. (I need to look up who Andrew talked to in his book, I listened to the audiobook so I don't remember their names off the cuff.)

    Thanks for any suggestions!
