The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz was very good and very fun. There are two really good twists (maybe predictable twists but it was a lot of fun getting to them.) A washed up writer takes a former student’s manuscript and passes it off as his own work. It hits all of the bestseller lists and gets movie buzz, but then he starts receiving threats that someone knows he’s a fraud.
Also, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
My aunt and I both read The Silent Patient around the same time and immediately texted each other something like, “What did I just read?” It definitely made an impression.
