Hello, I'm in a serious slump right now after reading Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone. It was one of the most thrilling books I've ever read and it made me not want to read literally anything else. So the kind of reads I'm looking for right now:
1: a book centered around a situationship (preferably one that can't be solved), the more complicated and chaotic of a situationship the better (I'm in one right now if you can't tell.
-
a book around/under 300 pages since reading is hard for me and often a daunting task (unless I'm hyperfixating on it, which I'm not currently)
-
Books that will make me sad. I don't tend to cry during my reads, but I want to be emotionally wrecked and appalled when I finish this book. I want to want to throw it across the room. Topics that resonate with me include addiction, neurodivergent struggles, poor family/childhood, loss of family or friends.
This was kind of a long post but I'm a little desperate.
The book(s) in question can fit into one of these categories or more!
Some honorable side notes are that I prefer fiction or literary fiction, and I'm not in the mood to read historical fiction (so anything taking place before 1990 or so would be out of the question.)
I appreciate all that you can give to me!! Thanks so much for reading this long ass post ( ◜‿◝ )♡ love you guys, happy reading!
