Hi there, I’m wanting to get back into reading. I haven’t really read much since I was a kid and kinda stopped reading around age 12 or 13. Figuring out where to start on my reading journey is a bit overwhelming and I’m not even sure what I like yet. Any recommendations for good starter books for someone who’s just getting back into reading would be greatly appreciated. I’m not super interested fantasy or science fiction, but otherwise I think I’m open to give just about anything a chance.
For reference I’m a 23 year old bi woman from Norway. My childhood favorite books before I stopped reading was Mathilda by Roald Dahl and a few Astrid Lindgren books like Pippi long stockings. My favorite movie genres are romantic comedies and musicals. Some of my current interests include travel, nature, history, urban exploration, true crime and music. My favorite season is autumn, I love animals and I’m obsessed with everything 60s/70s/80s when it comes to music and fashion. I’m able to read English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and some German so I’m open to books in any of these languages. I hope some of this information is of help in giving book recs.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/90356.British_Library_Crime_Classics They republish good books from “The Golden Age of British Detective Fiction”. Authors have their own styles but you could be interested (for example) in the top book – mystery in white. It would make awesome movie imo
Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series
How about [Fortune Favors the Dead](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) by Stephan Spotswood? For no particular reason other than that the main character is also a bi woman and I really enjoyed it 😅
