I’m not quite sure how to ask for this type of recommendation but I’ll do my best.
I am a character girlie. I love a book with complex characters and good character development. I love a good story, but the plot doesn’t have to be anything crazy. I’m here for the heavy topics with a lighthearted twist (although it doesn’t have to be lighthearted). I want the story to ask a question (or multiple questions) about humanity, human nature, etc.
My favorite author is Fredrick Backman, and my favorite series is his Beartown trilogy. I also loved Anxious People.
Some other books that’ve given me the same feeling are…
– Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
– The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
– The Measure by Nikki Erlick
– The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer
– The Wedding People by Alison Espach
Would love to hear any recommendations that fall under this “vibe”. Also if anyone has a name for this genre or a better way to describe it, I’m all ears!
Bonus points if the book feels like fall!
