In the The Raven Conspiracy by Michael Spratt – there is a team of FBI agents and the most important is a Japanese woman. She is also pivotal to the entire story.

Okay, the first that comes to mind is Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Near future sci fi. The main protagonist is Asian I believe (you won’t believe his name). But maybe the second main protagonist is a young woman (but not Asian, I believe).
Hopefully I have all this correct. But it’s been decades since I read it. I do consider it to be the most fun sci fi I ever read, and wish Stephenson had more like it.
