I’m looking for educational but engaging books on a few subjects to strengthen my mind a bit and just gain some general knowledge on stuff.

A few subjects I’ve thought of:
    – Literature/poetry (biographies/analysis’ of poets and authors and their works)

    – Science (Psychology. Chemistry. Biology. Case studies. Etc. anything else ya’ll find interesting)

    – History (any kind, but I would love to read more about African history. Particularly on monarchies in African countries. Would also love to read about historical events that not many people know about from around the world)

    – Animals/plants (not really sure how to categorize this, but pretty much scientific books surrounding animals and plants. Kind of like “the secrets of butterflies” (I don’t think that’s the name, but I saw a book like that a while back and thought it looked interesting)) or “The language of trees” (also don’t remember if that’s the right name of the book I’m thinking about. Sorry)

-Criminal justice (Odd or unusual cases + anything else ya’ll can think of)

    -Sociology

Any other book that you yourself have read that you feel you’ve learned from. I’m not interested in Philosophy, and I’m not interested in evolution, and I’ve already had a bunch of people recommend me the book Sapiens, so that’s a no. Sorry. Other than that, anything’s fair game for me.

    Thank you all in advance

**How to Make an Apple Pie from Scratch** by Harry Cliff for particle physics.

**Memoirs of an Addicted Brain** by Marc Lewis for neuroscience.

It’s a bit older but **An Incomplete Education: 3,684 Things You Should Have Learned but Probably Didn’t** by Judy Jones and William Wilson was really fun and I learned a lot.

Cod: A biography of the fish that changed the world – seriously, interesting af, and his other book, Salt, is too

Why Orwell matters – Christopher Hitchens, lots of good Hitch but if you’re interested in one genius analyzing another genius

You said no Sapiens but you might like his other book Homo Deus, which is more about the future
