If you did not initially read The Hobbit nor The Lord of the Rings as a person under the age of ~25, if instead you read the books after age ~25, do you think it was worth your time overall? That is, if you don’t have any childhood nostalgia about them, and your first exposure to the books was later in life, did you get a lot out of the experience, in your opinion? I’m speaking about the kind of kinship to the books that diehard fans of them always speak about. Are they difficult books to follow, to understand, to keep up with? The older you were when you first read them, the better for this request. Thanks in advance for your insight!
