I've rediscovered my love for reading as an adult, and I have so many classic and revered Fantasy options to choose from but I can never decide what might be for me.
I want to delve into Realm of the Elderlings or Wheel of Time… But they're both massive commitments so I want to make sure I'm investing my time and money into stuff I like the most. (The only reason I'm not getting to Sanderson yet is I want to wait until it's complete)
What I want out of my read:
First priority: World building. This is the biggest thing for me, I'm a very visual person so I want to imagine every brick and grain of grass around the characters.
Second: Magic. I love reading about magic whether it's classic or a completely new and intriguing system.
Third: Genuine villains/doom I like villains to be just that… I don't want them to be redeeming or at least if they are, it's not just a click of a finger change. Or, if there's no 'villain' at least an utter fear of something to be doomed or go wrong with high stakes.
I do like romantasy also, so if this is included that's great but not essential.
I've avoided reading too much about RotE and WoT because I want to avoid spoilers but if you can help me decide which would suit me more based on my likes? Or… If you happen to have another epic fantasy series recommendation that would be amazing.
