It's hard to phrase, but my favorite sorts of books are ones that deal less about "we're the next big names", but instead something grounded and more introspective.
Something that feels like a long car ride at dusk, or sitting by the river during fall. Kinda like Night in the Woods, The Gunners by Rebecca Kaufman.
I thought before about reading A Little Life, but I heard it's just "an over pouring of depression and not much else", which isn't what I'm looking for.
I know this sounds really vague and generalized, but I have no other good way to describe it.

The long journey to a small angry planet by Becky Chambers. It’s a sci-fi story that really makes you question where we as a human race are headed.
