A book where your like 137 pages in, and you suddenly come to a realization, "Holy crap this shit really happened!"
All I ask is please…no horror/ghosts/scary BS or any murder mystery mystery type stuff, detective's chasing some homicidal maniac or anything along those lines. I like business, fraud, corruption, world governments, historic events, good auto bios, wild tales, whistleblower stories/memoirs, military stories, other countries, etc.
Few of my past reads to give you a gist of what I mean:
EMPIRE OF PAIN 'The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty' – Patrick Radden Keffe
PERMANENT RECORD – Edward Snowden
BAD BLOOD – John Carreyrou
CIVILIAN WARRIORS – Erik Prince
THE RELUCTANT SPY – John Kiriakou
THE CONVINENT TERRORIST – John Kiriakou
THE LOST CITY OF Z – David Gran
TEAM OF RIVALS 'The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln' – Doris Kearns Goodwin

I just read The Girls Who Went Away and it was truly unbelievable. It’s about girls to from the US in the days before Roe V Wade who were sent away to have their babies in private and forcibly put up for adoption.
Nowhere Girl by Cheryl Diamond her memoir is about growing up stateless due to her parents negligence and financial crimes. Absolutely wild story
