    Hi!

I just picked up on reading but so far my reads have been so underwhelming … I have been through a lot in my life so I relate a lot to the complexity of life. I love existentialism, tragedy or heartbreak, doomed romance, questions of morality, or anything that leaves you thinking for days …

Some MCs I like: Marianne from Normal People, Katniss from The Hunger Games series

Genres I like: Sci-fi, romance, thriller, literary fiction

Books I enjoyed: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman, I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Books I did not enjoy: Anything from Emily Henry or Colleen Hoover

Note: Sorry I mostly get my recs from BookTok :/

[**Shark Heart: A Love Story** by Emily Habeck](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62919375-shark-heart?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=lUFpTjWqOt&rank=1)

[**Our Wives Under The Sea** by Julia Armfield](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58659343-our-wives-under-the-sea?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_10)

both of these books hit literally every single thing you’re looking for in a book. they also both happen to be tied for my favorite books of all time.

don’t let the first book’s premise fool you. this is not a corny or a joke of a book. this shit destroyed me and i’ve thought about it every single say since i first read it. a masterpiece of a story.

same goes for the second book. also, i **highly** recommend reading the second book by audiobook as the narrators really bring the story to life.

both of these books left me utterly distraught, laying in the fetal position feeling like i was genuinely in mourning. i can’t recommend them enough.
