I’m a big fan of slow paced books that focus
more on studying the characters than moving the plot forward, and I also love the horror genre, but I haven’t found many books that fall into both of those categories. Does anyone know of any books that are like this? Here are some of my favorite books, not all of them are horror but they all have some dark themes:
-Our Share of Night by Marianna Enríquez
-Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor
-In the Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami
-The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk
-Lonesome Dove by Harry McMurtry
-Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
I’m more interested in slow and character driven than horror, but having both in a book would be cool. Thanks!
