Hi, I am super new to this subreddit, and relatively new to reading as an adult. High school made me hate reading so much and I'm trying to find that joy I used to have picking up a fresh set of pages. I hate how much I rely on the TV for entertainment, and with a new baby, I want to get better at being present without screens.
So, here are some books and shows I've enjoyed recently, as well as some other things, to help with suggestions:
-
My favorite book is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime."
-
I just finished the show "Jane the Virgin" and loved the charm and family storylines.
-
I'm not really into anything "spicy" as the booktok folks may say.
-
I remember enjoying "Much Ado About Nothing" and "The Bell Jar" in high school.
Thanks in advance!

If you liked The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, I might recommend almost anything by Haruki Murakami (and there’s a lot!). You might start with Sputnik Sweetheart or A Wild Sheep Chase.
