need book recommendations

hiiiiii, i’m trying to get out of a reading slump. i love romance and books that make you rethink or just get to you. my favorite books are: the bell jar by sylvia plath; notes of a native son, giovanni's room by james baldwin. i love romance but somehow i always grew up reading YA romance, which is often cheesy and corny. good enough by paula yoo was really good. recently, i got a kindle and decided to read a book that was different for me—you shouldn’t have come here by jeneva rose. it felt like i was reading a wattpad fanfiction, and it ended so quickly, like the author was in a rush. i hated it. idk why people highly recommend her books, and i refuse to read anything by colleen hoover.
