I got my husband into reading with Fourth Wing. Now I am trying to find him another book. He loved the action and how fast paced Fourth Wing was. However, every fantasy book I have tried to suggest so far has too much world building and he zones out.
Any suggestions for fast paced action packed books? He only listens to audiobooks so audiobooks are a must and, duet or dual narration would be a huge benefit. ADHD friendly reading style is a must.
Genres/subgenres I’m looking into are: fantasy, romantasy, mafia, military, supernatural.
He isn’t a fan of historical fiction, science fiction, horror, or western.

Ilona Andrews Graphic Audio Innkeeper or Kate Daniels series
He would probably like the Dresden files. Urban fantasy, where a wizard detective is working with Chicago PD. They pretty much hit the ground running in a noir mystery setting. Narrated by James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), who does a great job.
Martha Wells’ *Murderbot Diaries* series of novellas is action-packed and quick-paced. It *is* sci-fi but it follows an ex-military cyborg that hires out as private security to humans at the edge of the galaxy. I haven’t looked to see if it is available as audiobook.
The first one is **All Systems Red**.
