Looking for a great new saga/series to sink my teeth into. Sci-fi is ideal, but open to fantasy or even other genres, especially if it contains some sci-fi aspects.
Im a huge Dune fan. Have read the original 6 many times. I can pick up any one of those books, open to a random page and enjoy reading it. I do not care for the crap by Frank's son and that other hack. I do not care for mindless schlock, I am seeking quality!
I also loved the heck out of The Dark Tower. What a wild blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, but with a surprising amount of heart.
Given the above, I'm no stranger to high concepts, violent content, or weird sex scenes. Life is short, bring that crazy stuff on.
I'm seeking that magical first read, discovering a fascinating new world and then being unable to put it down.
Thanks;

If you are open to fantasy, have you tried The Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson? Incredible world building, flawed characters and fantastic storytelling. For science fiction, the Expanse series by James S.A. Corey!
Well, two wildly different but quality sci fi sagas would be the Culture series by Iain M. Banks, and Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga. Banks’s books have different protagonists in each, and often take place years or decades apart from one another (I think I’ve read most or all of them), while Bujold’s mostly takes place in one or two generations of the same family, with various members serving as the protagonists in them, but for maybe the earliest related story. But usually the main protagonist is the son, afflicted with a rough health condition from birth.
