Suggest a book which goes through the generations.
Looking to read something like Godfather for a long time. Like where a story starts with one generation and ends in the next generation. Not looking for suggestions in the epic fantasy genre.

Pillars of the Earth
East of Eden
The Physician
The Thorn Birds
Anything by James Michener or Edward Rutherfurd, they both wrote numerous multi-generational sagas.

Just finished “The House of the Spirits” by Isabelle Alende and it was so good, I now plan to read all of her other novels too.

The bjorndal books by Gulbranssen – can’t exactly remember their names. Something with singing woods. I really loved to read something Nordic and rural, non fantasy.

Sharon Kay Penman’s Welsh Princes trilogy is excellent, especially if you like nice, long books.
