Something I don’t read a ton of but really enjoy when I do is political intrigue. I love watching smart people scheme, manipulate, plot, pivot, pull strings and build a tangled web of diplomacy, lies, and lofty promises to get what they want.
I’m not picky about genre because I’ve enjoyed it across genres. For example, I love Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall books for their political intrigue surrounding Henry VIII’s split from the Catholic Church and all its ramifications. For a contemporary example, in film I really enjoyed the Netflix series The Diplomat (2023) with Keri Russell.
My only real preference is that I’d maybe prefer standalone books vs. a series at the moment, but you can still suggest a series if it really fits the bill! Thanks in advance!
