    Hi community,

I will soon be writing my Masters thesis and I am hoping to write it in the British Literary and Cultural Studies Department. I took a seminar about society‘s attitude about sex throughout history and would like to dive deeper into sex education throughout the decades. I am hoping you can recommend novels by British authors, which deal with sex/sex education/intimacy in relationships/marriage.
One perfect example is On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan. I also found a great non-fiction book „Sex in Marriage“ from the 1930s. If you know any books that fit this description, please let me know. Thanks <3

    1. Try to get your hands on a small red book called “Aristotle’s complete works” that used to be published in Victorian times. Despite the title it has nothing to do with Greek philosophy! It’s a small medical guide aimed at British families with a large focus on sexual health and pregnancy.

There are various editions around and you should be able to pick up a copy around £20 in second hand bookshops. There are some photos of the book and contents on my profile (I can’t link it but scroll down and you should find it).
