My son is a great reader for his age (in my opinion). We have been on a quest to read books that are also movies so we read the book first and then watch the movie (so far he’s read Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, The BFG and is currently reading Matilda as examples).
I just finished Bridge to Terabithia and although it seems to be recommend as a kids book, I felt it was a little heavy? So I’m not sure if he should read it too. On the one hand, I feel like it has some intense topics but on the other hand I wonder if it could make a meaningful impact on his world view?
Sorry for such a long post but I’m just curious others opinions on this if you feel it’s a suitable read for his age or if the themes/topics may be something to wait a few years on and revisit. Thoughts?
