Hi everyone!
I'm software engineeer student, currently learning how to create interactive maps as part of an academic project, and I have chosen to design an interactive virtual bookstore. I would love to understand better what the experience is like for booklovers when they visit a physical bookstore.
Some questions I have in mind:
- What’s the first thing you do when you enter a bookstore?
- Do you usually have a specific book in mind, or do you prefer to browse?
- Which sections grab your attention the most, and why?
- How do you interact with the staff? Do you ask for recommendations, or do you prefer to explore on your own?
- Are there any special displays or sections that particularly attract you (like “new releases,” “best sellers,” etc.)?
- What factors influence your final decision to purchase a book?
I would greatly appreciate any insights or details you can share about your shopping journey in a bookstore. Thank you in advance <3!

1. I just check if they have some promotions that day
2. I rarely have something in mind, I just feel relaxed while browsing books.
3. I’m big into manga, so I’m always excited to see if they have something new.
4. I prefer to be alone
5. Besides manga I like universal literature
6. I tend to buy stuff on whims. I’m easily swayed to buy or not to buy
