A Book That Has Some Time Travel or Time Manipulation
Hey guys,
Do you have any recommendations for a book that deals with time manipulation or travel? Something like Dark Matter as well. I am taking a break from thrillers since I am getting the same type of plots over and over again.
I can’t compare to Dark Matter as I haven’t read it, but This is How You Lose the Time War is a book unlike any other.

11/22/63 by Stephen King is the best book ever written. It’s about a guy who can come back in time to 1958.

I haven’t read Dark Matter either, but my time travel recommendations include {{The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells by Andrew Sean Greer}} and {{The Midnight Library by Matt Haig}}.

Haven’t read Dark Matter, but I thought *The Time Traveler’s Wife* by Audrey Niffenegger and *Middlegame* by Seanan McGuire were refreshingly unique takes on the genre.

The Psychology of Time Travel, by Kate Mascarenhas
Cassandra in Reverse is an interesting use of time travel, mostly about self discovery.
Wrong Place Wrong Time is more of a mystery, enjoyable read.

*Dark Matter* is cross-dimensional travel. Richard Bach’s **One** has the protagonist couple cross dimensions multiple times. In each they encounter a different incarnation of themselves.
Michael Crichton’s **Timeline** has a group of grad students go back to 14th century France to investigate a mystery while another group stays in the present to assist/protect them. Much of the story is set in the past, depicting the brutality of life back then.

A Million Tomorrows by Kris Middaugh (Amazon).
This is the literal synopsis. It’s a star-crossed lovers story with time travel being the key. BUT … there’s no “time machine” involved. Twist on a familiar trope. 4.5 ⭐️ on Amazon with 115 reviews.

I really liked Wrong Place, Wrong Time, though it’s also kind of a thriller/murder mystery. It follows a mother who one day witnessed her son killing someone. Next day when she wakes up, she realizes it is the previous day, then the day before and so on. As she travels back in time she tries to figure out what happened & reflect on her motherhood.

The gone world by Tom sweterlitsch – agency to solve murders in the future, bigger conspiracy is found. This one gets pretty intense.
Paradox hotel by Rob hart – detective in a hotel for time travelers is trying to solve a mystery but her sanity is also disintegrating. This one has some really heavy moments but has some humor.
Space between worlds by micaiah Johnson – this is actually multiverse travel but adding it for fun – this can also get heavy as people can travel to other multiverses only if their counterpart is dead – so, yeah.

Lewis Grassic Gibbon aka James Leslie Mitchell, *Gay Hunter*. He uses the ideas of J.W. Dunne, which were fashionable at the time, but only as a plot device to get his characters into the future.
